1-week-old

My newest nephew is 1-week-old today. And they have decided on a name: Basil James Parrish. I am a very proud aunt!

A New Cause

I was reading a list of the Nobel Peace Prize nominees that were passed over for Obama (just curious, my opinion on the matter, or on the president is irrelevant in this case). There was a video on the page about a Doctor that helps the women in Congo. I watched this twelve minute video and it sparked a new passion in my heart. I don't know if I've ever felt so strong about this type of thing before. I'm going to leave it at that. Here is the link to the page with the video. I urge you to watch it, form your own opinions, and if you feel strong about it, join me in spreading the word, and anything else you can think to do. Thanks!

Sleepover with the Cousins

Tonight Eliot, Rosa, and Jackson are all fast asleep on our living room floor. Chad is asleep in the bedroom, Casey in his crib. I am here with my feet curled up on the couch so I don't step on little heads laying beneath me watching Blue Planet- my last attempt at getting all the kids asleep with no tears. SUCCESS!

The cousins are sleeping over tonight so that Josh and Jessa can get some rest, and enjoy some alone time with their 4-day-old (still un-named) little boy. Tomorrow we have big plans to invade Stoney Ridge Farm and get our fall on! We have our rubber boots waiting at the door, as the topic continually comes up with sparkling eyes!
